FAQ

If here “QA” can’t make you clear, please contact us.

These four materials are all high-performance fluoroplastics, but their characteristics are different:

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is the most common “plastic king”. Advantages: The highest temperature resistance (-190 ° C to+260 ° C), the lowest friction coefficient, and the best chemical inertness. Disadvantage: It cannot be processed by melting and requires compression sintering, resulting in limited product shape and poor transparency.

PFA (Fusible Polytetrafluoroethylene): inherits most of the advantages of PTFE, such as chemical inertness, non adhesiveness, and high temperature resistance: -190 ° C to+260 ° C. The biggest advantage is that it can be melted and processed (injection molding, extrusion) like ordinary plastics to produce complex shaped parts with high transparency.

FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene copolymer): slightly lower temperature resistance (-200 ° C to+205 ° C), chemical inertness comparable to PTFE/PFA. Advantages: Excellent transparency and melt processability, usually more competitive in price than PFA.

ETFE (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene copolymer): The mechanical strength (impact resistance, wear resistance, tear resistance) is the best among these four materials, with a temperature resistance of -100 ° C to+150 ° C. Advantages: excellent radiation resistance and shear resistance, commonly used in the fields of wires, cables, and films.

They all have the following performance:

Excellent chemical inertness: resistant to strong acids, strong bases, organic solvents, and almost all chemical reagents.

Excellent non stick and low friction coefficient: The surface is not easily adhered to substances and is very smooth.

Excellent high and low temperature resistance: The working temperature range is much wider than most ordinary plastics.

Excellent electrical insulation performance: low dielectric constant, low loss factor, making it an ideal high-frequency insulation material.

Good weather resistance: anti-aging, not afraid of ultraviolet radiation and bad weather.

This is a rough distinction method:

PTFE: usually white opaque, with a strong waxy feel and a soft texture.

PFA: It can be in various colors such as transparent, semi transparent, or opaque, with a more traditional plastic like appearance and a harder feel.

FEP: It is usually highly transparent or semi transparent, with an appearance similar to PFA, but its hardness is usually lower than PFA.

ETFE: usually semi transparent or milky white in color, with a tough hand feel and obvious mechanical strength.

If your long-term use temperature exceeds 205 ° C (such as requiring repeated high-temperature sterilization), please choose PFA.
If your usage temperature is below 205 ° C and you are cost sensitive, FEP is a more cost-effective choice with transparency comparable to PFA.

When your application has high requirements for mechanical strength, wear resistance, and tear resistance, ETFE is the best choice.
Typical applications include:
Insulation sheath of wires and cables (especially drag chain cables, robot cables)
High strength film (architectural film structure, agricultural greenhouse)
Lining and pipelines in the chemical industry

Because the semiconductor manufacturing process involves a large amount of ultra pure chemicals and high-temperature environments. PFA not only has excellent chemical purity (low precipitation of ions and metal impurities), high cleanliness, but also can withstand the erosion of high-temperature corrosive reagents (such as concentrated sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid), and can be made into seamless and smooth pipes and containers through melt welding, avoiding pollution.

No. Due to its excellent non adhesiveness, ordinary glue cannot effectively bond. It is usually necessary to use specialized fluoroplastic surface treatment agents (such as sodium naphthalene solution etching) to activate the surface, and then use epoxy resin or special adhesives for bonding. For thin film products, heat sealing is a more common connection method.

PTFE has a soft texture and is easy to machine (turning, milling, planing, drilling). It should be noted that:
Use sharp knives.
Control the processing speed to avoid deformation caused by material overheating.
Considering its creep behavior, the clamping force should not be too large and may require tolerance to be reserved.

Equipment: Corrosion resistant alloy barrels and screws (such as Hastelloy) are required.
Process: The processing temperature is relatively high (usually between 300-400 ° C depending on the material), and the mold needs to be heated to eliminate internal stress and prevent cracking.
Cleanliness: It is necessary to ensure extreme cleanliness of raw materials and equipment, as any contamination can affect product performance.

We can provide various forms of fluoroplastic products, including but not limited to:
Profile: bar, plate, tube, film, sheet.
Semi finished products/components: Parts that are machined or molded according to drawings (such as gaskets, valves, bushings).
Customized processing: Supports customized drawings to meet your special needs.

Please provide detailed requirement information, including:
Material type: (e.g. PTFE, PFA)
Product form: (e.g. sheet, pipe)
Specifications and dimensions: (e.g. thickness, width, length, inner diameter, outer diameter, length)
Quantity: (According to the drawings, there is basically no quantity limit)
Usage or special requirements: (e.g. food grade, semiconductor grade, color)

We will provide you with an accurate quotation and MOQ based on your information. For standard specifications, there is usually stock available or a low MOQ; The MOQ for customized products will be higher.

Yes. Many of our product lines have passed relevant certifications, such as:

FDA: Meets the standards of the US Food and Drug Administration and can be used in food contact situations.
USP Class VI: The highest level of biocompatibility certification, applicable to the fields of medical devices and pharmaceuticals.
ISO 9001: Quality Management System Certification.

If you have specific certification requirements, please let us know when inquiring, and we will confirm and provide the corresponding certificate documents.

We use professional protective packaging according to the product form:

Plate/bar/block material: Wrap with clean PE wrapping film to avoid surface scratches and contamination. Then use solid corrugated boxes or wooden boxes for packaging, and fill the gaps with foam strips, bubble films or cardboard to prevent shaking and collision.
Pipe material: Also wrapped with PE film and placed in thickened paper tubes or triangular cardboard boxes to enhance compressive strength and prevent bending deformation.
Film/Sheet: Roll shaped film with paper tube as the core shaft, tightly wrapped with PE film and kraft paper on the outer layer, and protected by corner protectors at both ends. Flat sheet materials are layered with smooth paper separators and placed flat in a hard cardboard box to prevent wrinkles.

All packaging comes with a product certificate and delivery note, and the external packaging is prominently labeled with “moisture-proof”, “pressure resistant”, “avoid sharp object collision” and other markings.

Although fluoroplastics have stable chemical properties, some physical properties need to be noted:

Surface scratches: Materials such as PTFE and PFA are relatively soft, and rough friction may cause surface scratches, affecting subsequent use (such as in the semiconductor field).
Pollution: High purity is one of its core values. Strict packaging is to prevent contamination by foreign objects such as dust and grease during transportation.
Mechanical damage: Although ETFE is tough, thin-walled pipes or films may still develop cracks or permanent deformation when impacted by sharp objects or subjected to severe bending

We offer multiple transportation solutions to meet different needs:
